:read: Notepad++ is a free (as in "free speech" and also as in "free beer") source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages. Running in the MS Windows environment, its use is governed by GPL License.

Based on the powerful editing component Scintilla, Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size. By optimizing as many routines as possible without losing user friendliness, Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment.

You're encouraged to translate Notepad++ into your native tongue if there's not already a translation present in the Binary Translations page. And if you want, help translating Notepad++ official site into your native tongue would...

According to reports, Google Inc. has achieved greater success in its social networking feature than had been initially predicted and has enabled the company to atone for its alleged inattention in assisting their customers to connect with others online. It has been reported that this generated unexpected challenges from privacy groups as well as competitors who claimed that by including the links, Google’s products were unfairly being promoted over other available resources online. This reportedly led to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission expanding it...

If a company cannot protect its data from access by unauthorized individuals, the result can be devastating for the company itself as well as all vendors and stakeholders involved with the company.
