NS-2 and Trace file

Hello everyone. I hope all of you doing great.

my assignment discussing about how to create "Distributed Hierarchical IDS for MANET over AODV+" means ad-hoc infrastructure.

i'm working on NS-2 simulation version 2.33. I successfully ran the Aodv.tcl code However I do not know how to get the result.

Someone appointed me to use AWK language to create trace file . so then i can get result.

as a matter of fact, I know nothing about awk language and how to create trace file?

I desperately ask your kind help and waiting for your reply as soon as possible.

-- How i can get the trace file of Aodv.tcl in order to get the result ?
-- how to integrate the Trace file with the Tcl file?
