first get what's SCJP ?
and what's Objectives covered in the exam ,
there is two versions of SCJP for JDK1.4 and JDK1.5 ,
in this page you will find a lot of details about it and Objective

SCJP1.4 is easy when you comparing it with SCJP1.5 (Generics , AutoBoxing , Threads , Collections )

Casper its take from me about 5 month , the most important exam is SCJD (Developer )
and SCJD prerequest is SCJP
and SCJD prerequest is SCJP
