Internet backbone

Internet backbone is a fiber physical network .It is considered as the main trunks of the world wide web (www).It carries data in speed of Gigabits /second (Data travel in speed of light) between companies ,countries and oceans .Internet is growing very fast .Every day there are new users .The important of the internet is increasing everyday as a source of information and business .Backbone must continue to cover these needs of new sites and new contents (Million and Million of pages are there in world wide web).


Backbone pipes must be able to carry the growing data throw them .If not, this will cause a slow in transmission and speed. Speed of connection is so important factor to internet users. Especially for companies that is hosting sites and transferring a huge amount of data where the speed affect its competitive advantage .The internet has changes the life of many users to better and better .Now it is big economic factor to many individuals and groups. Backbone is a set of networks, routing, servers .That ensure the stability of the internet, it use multiple redundancy approaches to ensure the data is available and secure.

At home you are connected to your ISP (internet service provider) and every ISP in connected to backbone network or own one .And this network connected with other backup backbone network to keep the web available in the case of failures using redundancy backups.

Backbone is owned by large companies. The backbone networks deal with each other as peers, they may share load in case of need (heavy traffic on specific one).
